Link Building Services
"Link building services" covers five different businesses that share a name and almost nothing else. We run one of them, directory submission, and this page is mostly about the other four, because picking the wrong category costs far more than picking the wrong vendor inside the right one.
What you get
priced from about $1 to over $1,000 per link, for outcomes that are not comparable
directories in our own hand-vetted, DR-scored database, free to browse before you buy anything
effective cost per directory link at our tiers, the cheapest honest link on the list
a live URL for every completed listing, so the outcome is checkable rather than reported
How it works
- 1
Work out which category you need
Breadth of referring domains, a placement in a publication your buyers read, and a rankings lift are three different jobs. Only one of them is cheap.
- 2
Price it per outcome, not per link
A $1 link and a $500 link both count as one referring domain. What separates them is whether anyone reads the page it sits on.
- 3
Buy the cheap breadth first if you're early
A product with almost no referring domains gets more from 100 real listings than from two expensive placements.
- 4
Use us for that layer
$99 for 100+ directories, $167 for 200+, $357 for 300+, submitted by hand, one-time per project.

One-time, per project. No monthly retainer.

“Day 1 — no backlinks. Day 30 — 400 backlinks. Amazing tool, got 3 customers. Made back what I paid for and then some.”

The five categories, and what each one actually sells
Every provider in this market describes itself as a link building service. The useful question is which of these five they are, because the price, the timeline and the failure mode are different in each.
Directory submission
Listings on directories that exist to list products. Roughly $1 per link at volume, fast, and verifiable, because you can open every listing yourself. Buys breadth, not prestige. This is the one we do.
Guest posting
An article placed on someone else's site, commonly $150 to $1,000 or more per placement. Slow, because each one is its own negotiation, but it can put you in front of a real audience.
Niche edits and link insertions
Your link added to an article that already exists, commonly $50 to $300 or more. Fast and cheap relative to guest posts, and the placement is entirely in the host's control after payment.
Digital PR
Earning coverage by giving journalists something worth writing about. The most expensive and least predictable category, and the only one that reliably produces links you could never have bought.
PBNs and link networks
Links from sites the provider owns, sold on their authority scores. Cheap, fast, and explicitly targeted by Google's link spam policies. We don't sell these and would advise against buying them.
Why per-link pricing is the wrong comparison
Providers quote per link because it makes the numbers look comparable, and they aren't. A directory listing and a placement in a trade publication both add exactly one referring domain to your profile, and that's where the similarity ends. One took a person ten minutes and one took three weeks of pitching.
The honest way to compare is to ask what you'd still want if the link were nofollow. If the answer is nothing, you're buying a metric. That's a legitimate thing to buy early on, when your profile is thin enough that breadth is genuinely the bottleneck, but it should be priced like the commodity it is rather than like editorial coverage.
What we sell, stated plainly
We do one category. Your product gets submitted by hand to 100, 200 or 300+ real directories, chosen from a database of 1,287+ that we vet and DR-score ourselves, and you get a report with a live URL for every completed listing. It's one-time per project, $99, $167 or $357, with no retainer.
We don't write guest posts, run outreach campaigns, buy link insertions, or operate a PBN. If what you need is one of those, the sections above should at least tell you what to ask a provider who does. And if you'd rather do the directory layer yourself, the whole database is free to browse and filter, no account needed.

Factors Influencing Link-Building Costs
Link-building prices vary based on backlink quality, acquisition methods, industry competitiveness, and volume. High-quality links from authoritative sites cost more ($200-$2,000+) but deliver better results than cheaper options that risk Google penalties.
