Open Graph Tester

The Open Graph Tester previews how your website looks when shared on social platforms, checking whether your page has the tags needed for a proper preview card rather than a broken or generic-looking share.

How to Use It

  1. Enter the URL of the page you want to test.
  2. Run the check — the tool retrieves your page's Open Graph data (title, description, image, site name) and flags whether recommended tags are present.
  3. If tags are missing or incomplete, review the detailed results to see exactly what to add to your page's <head>.
  4. Re-test after making changes to confirm your share preview now renders correctly.

When to Use It

  • Before sharing a new page or launch announcement — confirm the preview card looks right before it goes out to your audience.
  • Debugging a broken-looking share — if a link you posted showed no image or the wrong title, this tool pinpoints exactly which tag is missing or malformed.
  • Auditing your site systematically — check key pages (homepage, top blog posts, pricing page) to make sure they're all share-ready.

What It Doesn't Do

The tool checks your tags, not how a specific platform's cache currently displays your link — most platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn) cache OG data and may need a manual cache refresh (via their own debugging tools) even after you've fixed your tags.

Where to Go Next

If your page is missing solid OG copy, our Meta Description Generator can help draft a strong description to reuse in your og:description tag.
