Backlink Monitor

The free backlink monitor checks whether the pages that should link to you still do. Paste your domain and up to 20 page URLs. It fetches each page live, finds every link to your domain, and shows the link type (dofollow, nofollow, ugc or sponsored), the anchor text and the page's HTTP status.

When to use it

  • After a directory run. Paste the listing pages from your submissions to see which ones went live with a link, and which of those links are dofollow.
  • Before you pay for a placement again. Check that the sponsored post or listing you paid for still links to you.
  • When rankings drop. Lost backlinks are one of the first things to rule out.

What it doesn't do

It isn't full backlink monitoring software that crawls the web for links you don't know about. You tell it which pages to check. It doesn't store results or send alerts. It also reads raw HTML, so it can't see links that JavaScript injects. Paid backlink monitoring tools like Linkbox and Backlink Manager track your links over time, and we compare them in BacklinkBot vs Linkbox and BacklinkBot vs Backlink Manager.

Where to go next

For the bigger picture on tracking, cleaning up and growing your links, read our guide to backlink management. If you'd rather earn new links than babysit old ones, the BacklinkBot agent pitches pages that already rank for your keywords and re-checks every link it wins each week.
