Trust Flow
A metric developed by Majestic that measures the quality of websites linking to yours based on their trustworthiness, indicating how reliable search engines may consider your content.
Trust Flow is a proprietary metric developed by Majestic (formerly Majestic SEO) that evaluates the quality of websites linking to your domain based on their trustworthiness. The metric works on a scale from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more trustworthy backlink profiles. Trust Flow is calculated by analyzing the distance between your site and trusted seed sites—authoritative websites that Majestic has manually identified as reliable and trustworthy sources of information. Unlike raw link quantity metrics, Trust Flow focuses on the quality and reliability of your backlink sources. A website with fewer but highly trusted backlinks will typically score better than a site with numerous links from questionable sources. Trust Flow is often analyzed alongside Citation Flow (which measures link quantity and influence) to create a more complete picture of a website's backlink profile. The ratio between these metrics can help identify sites with artificial or potentially harmful link patterns. SEO professionals use Trust Flow as one of several indicators when evaluating link building opportunities, competitor backlink profiles, and the overall health of a website's link profile. When considering potential linking partners or guest posting opportunities, a higher Trust Flow score suggests that the site maintains editorial standards and is more likely to provide valuable link equity. However, Trust Flow should be considered alongside other metrics and factors rather than in isolation when making SEO decisions.
