Anchor Text
The clickable words in a link that you can see and click on a webpage. It's usually blue and underlined, telling you what you'll find if you click it.
When you see clickable text on a website that takes you somewhere else when clicked, that visible text is called anchor text. For example, in "click here to learn more," the words "click here" would be the anchor text. This text helps both users and search engines understand what the linked page is about. There are different types of anchor text: exact match (using the exact keyword), partial match (containing part of the keyword), branded (using a company name), generic ("click here," "read more"), and naked URLs (showing the full web address). Using a natural mix of these types is important for a healthy link profile. Good anchor text should be descriptive, relevant to the linked page, and natural-sounding. Overusing exact match anchor text (like repeatedly linking phrases such as "best running shoes") can look suspicious to search engines and might hurt your website's ranking, as it suggests you're trying to manipulate search results.
